Well I am never doing this again. A lot of my friends are from cold climates, the likes of like Oslo, Guleph, Chicago, Minneapolis , and Provo. The guy close to Minneapolis talked to me saying -31F/-35C isn't that cold without wind and said he was in a t-shirt for a few minutes in like -26F/-32C. Basically told me that he has been through much worse many times. So I decided to up the ante, and I walked for a short period of time outside in -31F/-35C with a t-shirt, long pants, and flip flops. No socks, no gloves, no hat. I regret that decision.
I went for a 3 minute walk outside in -35 wind chill with no sleeves but kept my head covered well. Felt so cold on my exposed arms it was almost like being on fire! Very interesting experience.
Lucky you. Here in the eastern part of the not-so-Great Lakes, we can't do anything right -21C was all the cold we could muster in Toronto
Looks like we wont even come close to the record. At 6am its -19F at MDW, -21F at ORD. But 27 miles to the west Aurora is at -32F. Rockford is at -29F. Here in the far southern portions IKK is at -18F.
Only 42f here. Looks like this will be the first winter we never got in the 30's unless something crazy happens from now to Apr. Just goes to show how much it has warmed up since 1990.
