Sick.

0.35" of rain here. Just changed to wet snow but the back edge of it.

Quick look at current map.. Arctic front dropping snow in Southern Indiana and into Kentucky now. Temps and dews in the 10s

Cold evening down south

Zoomed out. The Vortex is centered over the 3 Lakes now. Those Lakes are rapidly freezing up. Rivers in the Midwest as well.

Current temp departures from normal.

The cold air looks to spread back east by the following weekend. Chicago is definitely in the firing line again but how much further east and south will it go?

12z euro was quite chilly for the SW BC coast. 850mb temps dip to about -15C with a strong Arctic front descending from central BC.

Quite the intense cold pool modeled to blast through northern and central BC. Haven't seen an arctic blast like this in a while; have to go back to Nov 2010 for something similar. Whether this will verify is still in the cards but it sure looks promising.

Current Temp departures. Only place above normal right now is the SouthWest and New England. The Mid West is breaking cold records.

Zoomed out with Upper Heights. Jet stream digging way south. The center of the Vortex is back over Canada. Goodbye.

Welp, it didn't make it to the -40 mark here. Only Park Rapids did. But it was still pretty cold here though.
