^Disgusting weather today, hopefully these 50s don't last too long.

Temperatures around the Edmonton region at 1:00pm today. It's a slate-grey overcast with a bit of a wind. Not a hint of sunshine which is unusual for these kind of temperatures around here. Frankly it's all rather miserable.

I think the trick with me was knowing winter was over 3 months ago. LOL. So not expecting cold and snow kinda helps. Now..... lets get on with Spring. Enough teases.

Wonder what those 60s feels like. Smell of soil...sounds of birds, touch of ..... flowers?

Last time I was in the 60s was 13 weeks ago.

Always impressive how the Ohio Valley warms up so much and so easy.

^Nope, I'm not giving up. There's still late Feb and March. Even April if it comes to that. Also we got 2 pretty solid Arctic blasts despite no snow, so this area did already get some nontrivial amount of winter in January.

Those are some epic temperatures in Alberta btw. Further north, Yellowknife has gone below -40C for a few consecutive days now!

It's over rover for me. No 30's this winter it looks like. But anything freaky can happen like MARCH 3RD 1980 when Tampa got down to 29f.

Arctic front passing over the Vancouver area today. Temps were around 3-4C earlier this morning; now down to -2C in western sections and -8C in eastern sections.

West parts of Metro Vancouver didn't pick up much snow today, perhaps tr-1cm. The eastern suburbs picked up around 2-4cm, while the Fraser Valley received about 5-8cm.

Going to get mighty cold with the passage of the front tonight. Temps are already running colder than modeled. Forecast windchills are around -15C for Vancouver and below -20C east into the Fraser Valley.

This week is looking pretty chilly with highs around freezing and lows around -7C(19F). A few systems are forecast to ride down the coast....however with the suppressed jet they will bypass SW BC and most likely hit the Seattle to Portland corridor. Each low will bring in fresh waves of arctic air from the interior so Vancouver looks to remain cold but dry for the next two weeks. Hope the models change for the better and begin showing some snow up here.

I'm passing through Vancouver tomorrow on my way to Australia so all I can say is that there better not be any major snowfalls affecting flights tomorrow!

Today was a strange day. Cold, grey, and snowy. High temperature was at midnight and since 7:00am the temperature has been stuck at almost exactly -29.1°C +/1 0.1°C. Most unusual to be so cold yet also snowy.

Cold week coming up, looks like I'm getting out of Dodge just in the nick of time.
