Only problem with the south wind is that pollution is bad because this is the time that they burn their crops in Mexico. In fact that pollution made its way all the way up the eastern seaboard and NYC and Boston had unhealthy air for sensitive groups. So did San Antonio but Austin only had "Moderate" levels. I didn't notice anything in the air, usually in April it can be bad when they burn their crops in Honduras.
Two days at 60 degrees in SE Pa. . What a difference a week makes. A 70 degree temp shift. The weekend will be back into the 30s but until then its some rain and 50s to 60 again on Friday. I've seen flocks of robins nears some ornamental fruit trees and maybe saw a bluebird fighting a sparrow over a birdhouse in the yard. It might have been a female cowbird, though. No crocus or snowdrops yet in the garden but with temps like this it won't be long. Last year was such a late Spring we didn't see them until March. And then we really didn't get Spring until the beginning of May.
The night I left the temperature in Edmonton dropped to -41.2°C at the airport site. That seems to be the first below -40°C in nine years and a new record for the date.
It also happens to be about 70°C colder than where I am right now.
Very rainy overnight. Apparently, we even had some lightning and thunder and I'm very sad I slept through it all. Still a chance of more thunderstorms tonight so hopefully I will catch one of those.
