Coldest month in decades? No way that happens. Vancouver would need to average below -1C for the entire month to qualify for that.

I bet the month ends up averaging about 3C which is about the same as a normal December.

Average high in the last 5 days is 36.8, average low 24.2, so mean is 30.5F. There is no month that even comes close to that since 1980. The closest one is January 1980 with a mean of 34.8F. And the only colder month since 1950 is January 1950. Of course there is still 3 more weeks until the end of the month, but the forecast doesn't show a pattern change.

Insane your months are so much warmer than ours.

Just recently Vancouver averaged 0.8C in both Dec 2008 and 2016. Last month to average below freezing was Jan 1993; -0.4C.

Rain on Feb 6, 7, & 8th.

Update: My backyard since November 1st.

Days with Rain falling: 31
Days with snow falling: 19
Days with over 1" snowfall: 1

A look at the Pattern looks like the atmosphere moisture once again has a connection to the Pacific.

Adding: Even though the surface is in the 30s & 40s across the Northeast with rain there is Too much warmth at 5000 feet for us! Need that South East Ridge to push south more so the Jet stream can dip south of us and keep us in the cold. Problem is, moisture will be south of the Northeast .That's what's been happening all winter. Cold Dry or Warm Wet.

We need to cut off that Pacific flow! Meanwhile....a Memorable February for Seattle

Locked and blocked is the word for my area. No real rain or any weather for weeks. But not as hot as last Feb like is said weeks ago.
