This map shows "Dixie" quite well and why the South was the agricultural area and the North the industrial area...

Last unseasonably warm day today. Highs aren't that impressive because of cloud cover but lows are. Woke up to 69F which was a record warm low. High of 79 but record high is 83 and we're not making it to that with the cloud cover.

Tonight will be cooler, 62 and tomorrow will be only 67. Then the bottom falls out with lows in the upper 30's and highs in the 40's.

79 to 36 in 24 hours. I just wish the weather was a little more consistent.

Almost all the snow is gone in downtown Seattle which is surprising considering the low temperatures. I guess the sun helped.

^you'll be surprised how powerful the beaming sun can be in Feb, even at 47N. I've noticed that high-ratio snowpack can compactify and sublimate (albeit very slightly) even at -20 C.

4 shots of cold coming to PacNW. Playing the Euro12z anomaly loop was like boom, boom, boom, boom there.

Memorable February in progress

A return to colder weather by next week might also mean more snow. I hope so because most of it melted over the last few days

Impressive 68F high yesterday for Newark if we got this heat wave in late February, we would've seen 70s all around the NYC metro. LGA and Central Park topped out at 65F
