Because FL doesn't have a winter, at least not one cold enough to mandate a station for winter severity. Just like FL 30 years ago.

Warm front, not cold. Atlanta could see low 70s tomorrow. Savannah in the upper 70s.

30 years ago will be 1989 and we have not had a winter other than 1995-96 and 2010. Pretty much tells ya something has gone wrong. The winter of 1989 from Jan thru March was blazing hot. Dec of 89 was the last super freeze we have had.

Periods of rain today with temps mostly in the upper 40's.

Supposed to warm up overnight with a warm front. Could get near 70F tomorrow morning before a cold front arrives which should bring temps down to around 60F in the afternoon. More rain coming and possibly t-storms overnight. Some severe potential to the east.

What an amazing December! And the first half of January looks great too, no below average temperatures or snow in sight

40 and heavy rain right now with a warm front heading over us. Will warm up overnight to low 50's, much more tolerable.

Sun comes out 8AM and sun heats us up to 66. As we are on the other side of the warm front by then, humidity will be high too.

Then the cold front comes through and lows in the upper 30's and a downward trend. Below freezing by New Year's.

Tomorrow I will take all the plants inside before the freeze.

Weather is always interesting in the South this time of year. Shorts/t-shirts/sandals weather (80/sunny) on 22nd to blue jeans, boots, and parka with heavy rain and upper 30's this weekend. From upper 30's one day to mid 60's the next to freezing the next. Parka to short sleeve to parka over the course of 3 days.

Is there any other subtropical climate that gets these extremes? I don't think so...
