You mean like this one August 28th? Probably humid too. But I do like Texas's ability to have a cool season. Florida is too humid and too hot for too long.

I like how they are hedging themselves now saying "if it mixes to the surface". lol. yeah, there's been PV splits previously that didn't give us "winter". PV splits have always happened, I'm willing to bet we find many winters where it wasn't cold and snowy. I think the Pacific is wreaking havoc on our pattern.

FYI, there's a snowstorm happening north of you at the moment. I'm seeing 2-6" snowfall totals in Wisconsin

Rainy evening here. Roads are horrible. Big drops.

Metro Detroit had a decent sized snow on the 29th. About an inch. It was enough to have traffic hibernate and salt the roads. Of course it wasnt forecasted to be as strong. Tonight rain and 40F. Just dreary. Seems to me the Alberta clippers are missing this year so far. The pattern seems to be more direct west or coming even from California.

Looks like more heavy rain coming Wed & Thurs. I already had nearly 4 inches the past few days. Should dry out some this weekend.

Last week some model runs had been showing snow for around Jan 2 lol.

Happy New Year! The new year is starting off where the previous yr ended... With Rain in the Gauge! CRAZY. 1" already. Should end 2018 with 70"+

6:45-10:45pm loop. Lots of "yellows" on the map (moderate rains). Mesoscale discussion for Heavy snow issued for Northern NH and into Maine next few hours.

Where this moisture came from? Follow the arrows. From the Pacific. And it carried warm air aloft with it too.
It's +12C over Buffalo at 5000'! (53F). And the Jet stream is still dipped south of the Rockies!

Wow. What's the record annual rainfall for your location?

Just checked my total and looks like I will end up with 60.79" for the year though I think the airport will have close to 67 inches. Interesting that there is over a six inch difference.

2018 just sucked as a weather year minus two months. Hottest year ever and very dry other than 4 months to bail out what would have been the driest year in years. Jan was the coldest we saw since 2010, Jan, Apr, May Aug were above normal on rail and DEC was a bail out on my very low rainfall to bring me to around 50" for the year. I had 3 weeks of my dream pattern the first 3 weeks of Dec. Hottest Feb ever, hottest Sept ever and the hottest month ever for the Tampa area and Oct was the hottest ever.

Just a sad hot and dry year.
