Rainy and 39F outside. Way too cold and moist to be outside so I'm working on a few indoor projects and waiting for the NFL games to come on.

Good news is it's kept well above freezing, the high today may get to 42F or so but tonight is not projected to get below 37. So I don't need to worry about the plants.

But most of October and all of November were much below normal.

Sounds like a nice winter day there except for the rain.

1:20pmEST map. Pretty zonal across the East but at least the mid level temps are cold enough. 35° in NYC
I can't believe that Upper Low is stuck over the SouthWest and now over Mexico! I guess the SouthEast Ridge is blocking it?

Cloudy day over Atlanta under the front and 53°.

El Paso temps this month. They haven't been above 42° in 3 days now. Dropped to 25° this morning. 26° on the 14th but this time they aren't warming up because of that cold pool of air over them

Check out the 9,000 foot temps! -10C over Mexico. THATS COLD. Normal is 0C over El Paso for this level! That's what you call a Cold Pool of Air!

My visiting with relative was bragging that Orlando was 30 degrees warmer than here(Fresno) when he came. I loled and thought of you after I heard it.
I'm so glad that we won't see an 80 until late feb-late march. I love the 80s, but enjoy the break we get from them

But that was not winter until Dec 21st. I called for a very warm winter for most of us last spring. My Oct was the hottest ever and Nov was blazing as well and very dry.

I am gonna see plenty of 80's Jan thru March and little rain. I had my day in the sun in late fall with 3 weeks of heaven and 10" of rain and clouds the first 3 weeks of Dec. This is another hot dry 1990 winter for my area.

The MRCC Winter Severity Index has gone the other way now. A month earlier it was extreme everywhere.
