In Edmonton at the airport the average so far is -21.0/-31.5°C for a very impressive -26.2°C mean. I certainly picked a good time to go away!

No idea what the record for February is but that would definitely be in the vicinity if maintained. However, February is far from over.

Sorry guys, hate to ruin the winter parade. Snow coming Monday-Tuesday but Spring comes back on Friday-Saturday with 50s,60s,70s.

Since December I have given up.

Just wasn't seeing the right patterns for us and the wasted storms. Pacific Pattern will Trump Atlantic Pattern. Always. Pacific influence brings in warm moisture and air, and the no blocking left us without sustained cold, any cold we got was dry and then it snowed south of us. Just didn't feel right to me. It's nice when a call of mine is right but its sad when it was this....

This afternoons temps and upper flow.

Upper Low (Vortex) over PacNW while Core of the SouthEast ridge is over Florida. Not that hot there though but it is February I guess.

Nice day here being on the northern side of the Jet. Dry/Cold. The theme all winter

This was Kansas City's 2017-2018 winter disease. Commenters on a local weather blog kept repeating the same stock phrase: "It’s gonna be cold, it’s gonna be dry, and it’s gonna last you for the rest of your winter."

I swear, Southern Ontario has been cursed with cloud cover this month. We've been plagued by it every day since last weekend. Honestly, it's like pulling teeth to get a clear or partially clear sky around here lately. Even January saw at least some sunshine and sunny days.

Blah, March can't come soon enough

Well you only get 3 hours of sun a day in February which is not much more than here and its certainly dull in February here so what do you expect?

Nasty cloudy cold day today in Austin. Was in the upper 30's all day now it's 41. Spent all day cleaning inside. 70F and 33% inside, all humidity from earlier in the week is gone.

Tomorrow is going to be slightly warmer, rainy in the 50's and then Monday will be thunderstorms in the 70's. Then FINALLY sunny and in the mid 60's on Tuesday. The sun has been largely absent the past two weeks. Even during the warm upper 70's it was mostly cloudy and we haven't had the full sun beating in.

That being said, we haven't had a lot of rain in Austin in February so we need tomorrow's storm to rain down hard. Rain starts 10PM tonight.

What I wouldn't give for a clear dry sunny 80 degree day. March please come!

KC is dry overall compared to areas further east during the course of any winter season, though.

Cold but not a cloud in the sky today. Didn't feel too bad with the sun getting stronger. High was 34F, the exact high our local tv weather called for.
