Current conditions across Canada this morning. Southern Ontario is the "warm" spot--somewhat unusual for February. Arctic air has fully taken over Alberta with everywhere now being below 0°F.
Looks mostly cold and windy tomorrow in Vancouver. The cold is forecast to remain for the next few weeks however the jet will be suppressed keeping us relatively dry.
With the jet pointed to our south...All models show Seattle to Portland seeing multiple rounds of snow starting on Thursday.
You must be disappointed. It will be cold for our standards, but nothing extreme.
If we can just get past this week, it looks like more winter like conditions will take hold for the rest of February.
Nothing barbaric like what we just experienced, but definitely winterlike if the CFSv2 and GFS are to be believed, BUT there's a catch. Watch the video embedded at the bottom
GFS says east coast not really going to get any consistent cold any time soon though and I'm to be just a little below average
Good video showing why winter might basically be over for the east coast and even the lower Midwest might not much of anything for the remainder of winter.
Jan 30th temps on left. This afternoon on right. Swing Away.
