Euro12z. Hey look, Polar Vortex Blast again. 0°F January 31st. Let me guess, rain and warm shortly after? LOL

Euro12z for Hartford.

Warm, Rain, Very Cold for 4 days then warm and rain comes in then very cold for 4 days. Wash, Rinse, Repeat.

Could it be another Flash freeze event next week? Near 50°F Wednesday morning to 10°F by evening

Look at the data for Hartford. Precip moves in and it warms up. Gets very cold still end of month into February.

That's cute. You guys get near record cold AGAIN yet you're still complaining.

You guys have had six straight years of above average snowfall. I wouldn't be complaining if that happened over here. Has all the cold/snow this decade altered you east coasters perception of average?

Did you not see the part about it lasting 1 day and then rain moving in? lol. Whats the point of record cold if it wont last? Flow is too fast!

Do you realize we're not just slightly below normal? In past 71 yrs Only 3 years had less snow in Demember and January than this year. The complain is legit. It usually snows by now. Lets see if February can make up for it!

54°F and the sun is peeking out. It was lightly drizzling just an hour earlier and now everything smells great. Beautiful day for winter.

Do you guys look for cold cranking amps down there?

I have a 500CCA. Its the number of amps a 12-volt battery can deliver at 0°F for 30 seconds while maintaining a voltage of at least 7.2 volts
Not really. I have the same battery when I bought my truck. It's been a little over 4 years and it's still starting fine. I figure it may die in the next year or so.

My riding lawn mower battery just died in November. I bought the riding lawnmower in 2014 as well.

I normally start the lawnmower every other week even if I don't have to mow just to make sure the battery is okay but with all the rain we had in October there was about 3 weeks I couldn't start it and that's when it died.

I got a higher amperage battery this time (only a few bucks more so worth it) and also a portable battery charger which is plugged in nonstop now. I'll see if that helps for the battery life.

I've found that batteries down here tend to die in either humid weather or extreme cold. Since we don't get extreme cold here a lot it's the humidity you have to worry about. The batteries do fine in hot dry weather it's just dry cold and humid heat they don't like.
