Bastardi thinks after the upcoming weeks the greatest negative anomalies will shift south and east.
Sounds good to me.
The local forecast for my corner of northeast Georgia has lows in the 20s to lower 30s for the foreseeable future, and highs in the 40s to lower 50s. I hope I get some 10s here this winter, because I haven't had any yet. The strongest thrust of cold air seems to have been to my west so far this winter, closer to the Mississippi River.
Looks promising, but unfortunately unlikely. A week out and it's likely to moderate.
I hope to be wrong though. If we can get some more near-zero lows over here I'll set up a tent in my backyard. Seems like a good opportunity good to test out my -20 degree sleeping bag.
Forecast is trending colder; I see some 10F lows here, followed by teens. Let's hope it keeps doing that!
