Well, Madison WI was -23F this morning, coldest low there in many years. Even parts of north-central Illinois were around -20F.

Glad the mid and long range CFS is showing warmth over the west. It's showed cold over us a few times and the exact opposite always plays out.

Getting rain here as that kink has moved north. Super heavy rain just missing me 40 miles northwest of me offshore. Hope it floods all day. Would love to see 4" to make up for a dry month.

50f and still light rain. Already got over 1". This stuff lifted north 12 hours sooner than anyone dreamed it would have. Every time we have a Corvette cruise planned it rains.

After turning very cold from Tuesday 29th Jan - Tuesday 5th Feb, it will turn exceptionally mild especially at night from Thursday 7th Feb according to Weather Online. About 2/-2 in the cold spell and 12/11 in the mild spell.

Forecast for the rest of February is for generally cold conditions - but with occasional milder interludes bringing some exceptionally high temperatures - perhaps the record high of 18.1°C will go.
