Between 4-7 inches for the city of Chicago, more in the north suburbs, not much down here in the far south suburbs though we picked up about 3" last night

Imho, the only benefit of living on the eastern side of the Great Lakes is that you get much more lake effect snow than we do. The negatives are you usually don't get as cold (at least Michigan) and also you dont get as warm in the Spring and summer too.

Makes no sense. There are literally a bunch of cities and towns north of you (Fargo, Grand Forks, Bemidji) which are significantly colder than Brookings.

Have to admit though, Brookings sure does have an epic (maybe the best?) climate within SD Might be the elevation that's responsible for that.

Not for SW BC. Cold is completely blocked from getting here per your maps.

Doesn't look like arctic cold at all. Par for the course. Perhaps a couple cool days with a transitory chilly airmass.

Still waiting for the day when the PV sits over the west like it has over you guys for the better part of the past decade.

76°F/24.4°C in Redding, CA today. Wow! Their record is 80°F/27°C for January.

Meanwhile, Portland is in a temperature inversion and will only reach 43°F/6°C today.

Read the thread where I said it outperforms its latitude. There is no city at that latitude that can compare. Plus this time of year its rainy season is epic.
