Just because the cold won't be extreme in Florida and south Georgia doesn't mean that it won't be extreme where the core of the coldest air was in the 1985 and 1994 cold waves.
The cold air this time around does seem rather compact though. December 1989 had record lows all the way from Edmonton to Miami.

I am sure it will be cold up north. I just don't see any kinks in the upper levels to dig down far enough to get me near 35f.
5 degrees this morning with the wind chill at -13. Not bad compared to what's coming next week! Still, I believe this is the coldest air of the season, just slightly colder than we got last week. The sun is out today with a bunch of false promises! It looks warm but only looking for a high of 15.
Low of 31F this morning. Forecast high is 70F today. Welcome to the desert lol.
