Euro00z showing Arctic Blast now, then warms up and precip moves in mid week,
Then Arctic Blast again for weekend, then warms up and precip moves in.
Then another cold blast next week. ...
Uppppp....Downnnn.
That January 28th needs to be watched of course, could be another big snowstorm for the region!
Newfoundland and Northeastern Nova Scotia are rather exempt from the North American cold wave/Hudson Bay polar air outbreak this morning, to say the least! What's also worth noting is that offshore areas from New York City dozens of miles from the shore are -10°C, with even offshore areas dozens of miles off 38°N being at -6°C!
Rain on Sunday, artic cold on Monday, and rain on Wednesday. Unbelievable. Since the one storm in October I haven't seen a single inch of snow on Long Island.

Actually it was November but yeah, not more than 1" since mid November here.
Another funny fact is... I have not measured snow outside in the daytime this season. Mid November I was stuck in traffic for 6 hrs so I missed it. The rest were either at night or under 1/2"

steep pressure gradients tonight.
Cold blown in by sunrise. Except for the coast, very little north-south temperature difference. Southern Quebec isn't much colder
very cold late afternoon temperatures in the mid single digits in New England. Warm air is already making upstate NY warmer, shortlived cold blast
