Had the flu run through the house 3 weeks ago as well. Fun times
This is a bit scary. 102 fever for 3 days is no joke...for me, it would rank as the sickest I've been in my life (I say that luckily, I guess). Do you mind my asking if any of you were boosted?

Both adults were boosted. I had mine back in Dec. Wife's symptoms were so minor she said she never would have gotten a test if our 4-year didn't have covid at the time. I think her aches lasted 12 hours and that was it.

It was on par to the flu that i had 3 weeks ago. Same duration, similar symptoms. I might actually rank the flu as being slightly worse as I had no appetite and couldn't keep food down. With covid, I was eating quite well.

First clue for me i was getting it was swollen lymph nodes (i had this when i was vaccinated) and some "gastro" issues. The next day, fever, aches and chills. I managed the fever with OTC meds, but still had the chills for all 3 days. That's why i said it was my worst symptom. The aches were mostly gone by day 2 and I was able to move around well and do some stuff. I only spent the first day of fever in bed. After that I felt "better" and was up and about. Very minor cough and stuffy nose on par with what i usually get with seasonal allergies. The only lingering symptom is a stuffy nose, but all my other symptoms disappeared quickly.

When I was ~ 8yo I had an infection that sent my fever well over 104F... I can still recall being soaked with sweat and experiencing hallucinations - in my field of view was a large lamp hanging on a cord - it turned into a bat and began flapping around the room, which was unnerving... I recovered without any lasting effects tho.

So your all vaccinated and were sick 3 months ago, and now some are sick again?

What is stupid is now everyone who doesn't feel good for a day or two associates it with covid and acts like they would have died. People are sick all the time and most of the time for just a day or two and we are fine, but now we act like some miracle vaccine cured them.

Wow thank goodness everyone had all the covid-shots. Just imagine how bad it could have been without them.

Brilliant. Masks and covid-shots have worked so well at eradicating this virus. We are just three years in but we've almost beaten it! Keep wearing your mask we are almost there. Time for another mask mandate. Save grandma! Be safe!

Had we not had 30% of the population as jugheads refusing to get vaccinated, we would not have had all these variants circulating, guaranteeing that Covid was not going to be eradicated.

Meh, most of these variants have so far formed in countries/populations where widespread vaccination was not yet available. In theory I suppose we could have eradicated Covid by getting enough shots to every country in the world during the first part of 2021, but that was probably realistically impossible (not meant to be). At this point, we need to keep people out of the hospitals and allow society to move on. So far the mRNA vaccines have been a very effective tool at that, although we would be in a better place had more people made more responsible choices.

Yeah, wasn't referring so much to the origin of the variants, vs. the fact that they are circulating so readily and rapidly. No doubt that if we were at measles-level vaccination rates, Covid if not eradicated, would at least be in the rearview mirror from a practical standpoint.

Wastewater signal going insane in MA. Hold on tight.

The main worry I have right now is that we won't have updated vaccines and treatments for the vast majority of us in the fall - I am losing hope that our government is funding anything.
