Interesting study recently published in The Lancet finds that the incidence of Long Covid in Omicron variant patients is only half that found among Delta variant patients. Since Omicron is displacing Delta, that's good.

That is good news; won't fit the lockdown monkeys' agenda.

Well, unfortunately, since Omicron is more than 2x as infectious as Delta, it still leads to more Long Covid cases than Delta.

With Blockbusters, they always greenlight the sequel.

The transmission rate for monkey pox is nothing like the transmission rate for COVID-19. It’s not aerosol transmission so it’s also pretty easy change your behavior to avoid contracting it. The vaccine already exists. I don’t see it as a sequel at all.

A survey in the UK suggests that you won't get the same care (regarding resuscitation and ICU transfer) since the pandemic. https://www.theguardian.com/society/...ts-since-covid Surprise surprise.

Probably true. They had a semi idiot for Prime Minister and he was the type who thought covid was a joke. Until he got it and nearly died from it. So the people there haven't taken it seriously and the NHS became overwhelmed. Worse, with a conservative government that won't pay nurses what they are worth, a lot of them are quitting. Burnout and low pay combined. I still don't think people there are wearing masks on trains and just not taking it seriously. They also left the EU so they are not getting employees from Europe anymore. UK is kind of in a mess right now but they just got rid of their prime minister and I think it's down to two candidates so there may be hope. But unfortunately it is still going to be the same political party.

Covid's no joke, that's for sure. But I'm not sure that any degree of public health theater would have made a difference. Two and a half year's in, the virus is still around. A lot of educations and wrecked businesses are not.

Wastewater is tracking pretty flat or even downwards. Pretty typical for summer I guess
