Not to mention what are we vaccinating for. They are going to use a vaccine based on a strain over 2 years ago that isn't around anymore.
Unvaccinated 65+ are 2.7 times more likely to contract COVID-19, 3.5 times more likely to be hospitalized, and 4.3 times more likely to die. Don’t listen to the jibbering idiots.

I mean, in the early going it took some doing to get vaccinated, but by the time we got to the booster doses, it's been a matter of just making an appt with CVS or Walgreen's right in town via their website and then a 5 minute drive and getting the shot, no lines, no cost - a simple errand. Yet over half the Mass residents who got the first dose have never made it as far as a booster.
Even for boosters, booking at a CVS in Boston wasn't convenient. I was never able to find an appointment at any CVS within walking distance, and I ended up getting a booster at Fenway when they did a clinic there.

Okay - I guess it varies depending on where you are. I had to do some significant driving from Newburyport to metro west for my first two shots in a cavernous former mall store, but my boosters were at the CVS right in town here, and very easy to get appts for. It's a few miles, so I drove, but it was just as easy as picking up a prescription or getting groceries for that matter - 5min drive.

I also had no problem getting a booster at CVS. Perhaps the inner city is different.

My shots were fine the town did them and it felt like a combination of Hands Across America and a Disney movie. The booster on the other hand and I live in a small town that's pretty much Royal was a pain in the ass. There is a complete lack of coordination between the drug store in the government which meant that registration wasn't really online but it was really on paper which means I had to wait I think my booster took hours. I don't care what procedure it is but if you tell people that you don't need insurance and you can show up anytime is going to really screw up the customer service end

My shots were at the Javits Center in NYC and took hours on a long line. March 2 and 23, 2021. The booster took minutes, at County Center, White Plains, October 27, 2021. From the latter I didn't feel great the next day.

The MWRA data is trending downward again (though with a slight plateau in the North). Between the surge of at-home testing and the lack of testing overall for asymptomatic and mild cases, this is seems like the best tracker moving forward.

This doesn't make much sense. I registered on the CVS website, noted when I had my first two shots, and brought my vax card to the appointment. Couldn't have been simpler.

Agreed. I never reported my case, so it was never counted in the official tally.

I never reported my numerous negative tests either. Those do not get cranked into the statistics. I am not sure whether the positivity rates would be higher or lower if all negative tests and people without symptoms or illness on one hand, and people with unreported positives or asymptomatic and thus untested people were counted.
