Strawberries, Lettuce, Carrots & Onions are in the ground. Potatoes are drying to be planted over the weekend.

This time last year I still had half foot of snow left in spots. lol

Lets just hope this continues. We need to get at least a good crop out of this weather.

With the wonderful weather we have been having I was thinking about planting some rose bushes, but have no idea when here in Northern CT is a good time of year to do so?

It was so warm today that I opened all the windows and enjoyed the slight breeze. Also I was wondering, does such a warm mild winter mean we could end up with more severe thunderstorms, or tropical storms this summer?

NM

The average last freeze in northern CT is mid to late April so it would be too early yet. The pattern could reverse itself even though it would appear to be impossible at the moment. I'm not sure what the Spring or Summer will bring yet, but I would bank on above average temperatures at the moment.

Nothing going on STILL with GFS. Just rain showers or light rain at best next 2 weeks. Temps stay warm still. Wow.

Here's next Monday based on latest GFS.

Be careful with your plants, I seen this happen before. We jump the gun, get the itch, and think Spring is here to stay but then we get frosts and freezes many times in April.

You asked what the Euro is showing? Here you go.

Its long range for Next Thursday but obviously it has one thing in mind.

Its in 10 degree intervals so where it says 70 it means 70-79 degrees.

18Z GFS is downright scary as well. Unprecedented warmth continues all of next week. This does look eerily similar to what Russia went through with an enormous anomalous ridge with heights well above normal sitting in place for a long period of time. Let's hope this pattern quits before summer because that would be horrid.

I told you, nothing in Megalopolis would be broken today because in 1990 they all had temperatures from 80-90 on this date (though NYC did reach 75 today!).

Good call guys.

Yeah this is a reminder of the Russian pattern. No doubt if this happened in summer we would be in 90s and 100s many times over but odds have to be against that now since the length of time we been in this pattern.
