It has never been anywhere near 112 here. Central Park hit 106 in 1936 and 104 a few times (most recently in 2011 when Newark hit 108). CT state record is 106 in Danbury in 1995

As 7wishes said, Car thermometers aren't accurate especially when parked or in sun. Central park hit 112?? They never got past 106 in history (since late 1800s)
That's what I thought. It's never been that hot in Ct. for a day, let alone a week every summer.

Will Hartford finally hit 90 this week? If not the next chance comes after mid July.
If by Hartford you mean BDL, they did already hit 90 once this year......

Tuesday and Wednesday look like the best shots to hit 90, though NWS is mostly saying upper 80s.

Speaking of NWS, they are noting that the last time we got to July 1 in Central Park without a 90+ high, 1985, was also the 2nd latest in the year that one didn't happen (first 90 was on July 14). Record is July 26 in 1877. Though 2009 gets an asterisk (which is the last "no 90s in June"), a couple of freakish 90+ in April, then no 90s until August.

So I will say we will NOT end up anything more than +1.0 in July or less than -1.0.

Precip I hate and is always harder than temps. One reason is because its so localized. I can have 1" of rain, BDR has 1/4". Not enough stations out there.

Guess precip will be below normal July.
Yea.. I just mean above..0.1 - 2.0 not more than that. Hell, its all a guess anyway. See how it plays out.

Today is the first day for me I can feel the humidity heavy in the air.. You can see it too , not as clear and crisp. Welp , its summer.

Interesting to note that there is some agreement with long range models showing this . Something we will have to watch...

HIGH PRESSURE SHOULD FINALLY BUILD IN SO WILL GO WITH DRY WEATHER AND SEASONABLE TEMPS. HOWEVER...WILL HAVE TO KEEP AN EYE ON POTENTIAL TROPICAL DEVELOPMENT OVER THE MID ATLANTIC WATERS LATE IN THE WEEK. GIVEN THE UPPER LEVEL PATTERN...ODDS FAVOR THAT IF ANYTHING DEVELOPS THE BRUNT OF IT WOULD PASS SOUTHEAST OF OUR REGION...BUT STILL SOMETHING WILL NEED TO WATCH.

Nope, I meant HFD. Hartford hasn't hit 90 yet.

First day? You're more immuned. Anything above 60 I feel for sure and we've been there a few times by now.
Just wait until Wednesday. Mid 80s and suppressive tropical dewpoints.

Getting into the thick of things where the CT coast humidity keeps on coming.

Made this graphic to easily see how the max dewpoints in June matches up to last 6yrs.

Its coming but looks short lived. I still think we are in for a cool summer. The heat just keeps getting suppressed. Looks like another cold front comes through for next weekend.. LOL

NWS Upton
ZONAL TO WNW FLOW SETS UP ALOFT FOR THE WEEKEND...WITH DRY CONDITIONS EXPECTED.

NWS Boston

WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH EARLY FRIDAY MORNING... A COLD FRONT WILL BE SLOWLY APPROACHING WED NIGHT...THEN MOVING INTO EASTERN PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND BY EARLY FRI MORNING.

This is a real treat outside right now. We just returned after a long drive from Montreal, and it got cooler and less humid as we got to Hartford! Actually was in the 88-90F range just north of Albany mid-afternoon...
