Eesh. Lucky me though, Saturday looks great.

Posting this here too...

Confident through July 90s hard to come by or short lived north of Philly....might be into August as well.

It's amazing to keep seeing this pattern... The northern Jet Stream doesn't want to retreat far enough for us to really get hot.

So Polar Air masses will get stronger and deeper going into fall if this continues.

Here's GFS00z 850mb temps for hr174. I mean if we're seeing single digits at 4000 feet in July imagine this setup in the fall/winter. So basically 40s will be around for someone if this happens morning July 4th.

Just seeing this show up or happen is an indication the atmosphere is supporting it.

So for CT...its possible July 4th morning will be chilly and the day only in the 70s or near 80.

Cambium if you're right, we'll have a summer of perfection. Think of the money everyone will save by not having to turn on their AC OR heat all summer long!

Remember 40's at night and 70-80 during the day means it's still hot *inside* when it's time for bed. Gets nippy when you wake up in the morning but it warms right up again within a couple hours.

Now all we need to do is shove back the humidity, and let it rain for an hour every evening after supper

Could be interesting. We're going to visit some friends in northeast PA July 2-6 and while yesterday (haven't looked today yet) NWS was saying warm, humid and rainy for the period for our region, for there they were saying cool and mostly dry (as in near 50 at night and only mid-70s by day since being inland and mountainous). I wonder if that reflects debate over yet over whether the jet stream retreats or whether/how far another cool air mass reaches.

While it would make it cool for the beach, I'm still hoping for the latter of the 2 forecasts, would make it perfect for the fireworks we're seeing on both the 4th itself and the next night!

12pm June 27, 2014

Suddenly not bad. Love those High Pressures NorthWest of us spinning clockwise and giving us Northeast winds in Summer. Look how dry Eastern New England is for end of June

Northern CT Valley has chance at 4+ so your probably right for BDL. Having a hard time believing BDR see's 1.

BDR had 14 last year
1 in 2009
4 in 2007
1 in 2000
2 in 1998

We should do a poll for fun. lol.

BDL already had a 90 degree day remember they were the only one north of Virginia (but lots of 88s and 89s that day)

Did you mean no 90 plus at BDR for June or the whole year?

Nice analysis, Cam. Folks near Boston have been getting that cool, dry weather since February (it seems). And now we're past the summer solstice and days are getting shorter. Average temps peak in mid July around here.
