Furture Radar Loop

First notice the storm heading to Canada... new coastal storm forming in Mid Atlantic watch the moisture ride up the coast. Its fast and fast means not much UNLESS you are in the localized downpour like Baltimore and Detroit.

HIRES Window East WRF NMM Model

Detroit might end up calling FEMA

Give it to Thursday morning to feel the air behind this. Thursday, Friday and Saturday look awesome!! Dry and cool for August standards. Dewpoints in the 50s which means lows in the 50s as well. Daytime highs in the 70s.

Then humidity comes back after weekend.

Baltimore 6-10 inches of rain. Water rescues all over.

Radar NOT impressive... we'll see tonight or in morning how it is which is when we are supposed to get the heavy stuff.

There might be some impressive downpours being the atmosphere is loaded. "Potential" not guaranteed.
A lot of the rain also fell north in upstate NY. My mom drove back from visiting my Buffalo area sister today and told me she droe into some real doozies from time to time.

There's the coastal storm. In the summer usually it's just a tropical system, this is a Fall look.

Current radar and wind gust reports. Mt Washington 73mph wind gusts, Stratford, CT 37mph.

I got only 0.90" rain here. Winds feel good!

12"+ now. Long Island going under?

To put into perspective..

ISP's recordbooks go back 30 years. Central Park's go back to 1869, and the wettest day at NYC was 8+ inches

RECORD RAINFALL in NY state - the OLD record was 11.6″ set in Tannersville in 2011 during Tropical Storm Irene.

Unreal.

Some rainfall reports from NWS NY. Amazing to see 4-13 inches of rain that fell

Rainfall Total Map per radar estimates. Looks like Baltimore wasn't the only ones to get 10"+. Reds = 3"+

Take a Look at the southern NY/CT border... see its green? Look at the reports above. Westchester County Airport less than an inch. LOL WOW! I had 1.25". Talk about close.
