72F dewpoint here. I'm not going to mention Atlanta! LOL

Current Dewpoints. The crisp Dry air is still in Canada & will get into parts of the Northeast/New England tomorrow. We wont see 40s for dewpoints (or lows) but those 50s will sure feel nice!

Islip, NY picked up a whopping 9.71 inches of rain in just two hours ending at 6:56 am, including an incredible one-hour total of 5.34 inches between 4:56 and 5:56 am. As of just before 12 pm ET, 13.26 inches of rain had fallen in Islip since midnight, over three times the August monthly average of 3.98 inches, and approaching not only their August monthly rain record of 13.78 inches in 1990, but also their wettest single month, 14.07 inches in October 2005. Islip also broke the 24 hour rainfall record for the entire state of New York.

And I thought the nearly one inch here in New Britain (06052) was bad!

Yup.. Islip needs 1.55" more to beat NJ's State 24hr precip total of 14.81"

Massachusetts State 24hr precip record is August 18-19, 1955 of 18.15"!

Here are the rainfall totals from the 3 offices for CT for todays storm.

Western side of state got nothing compared to rest.

Enjoying today?

Latest GFS12z says no 90s north of Philly next 2 weeks.

Should we start nailing the coffin?

Still some time for more 90s or a heat wave.

GFS Data for Northern CT

2pm Temps doesn't tell the whole story..

This helps.. Dewpoints in the 40s and 50s! DRY!

Stepped off the boat this morning after a cruise to Bermuda and was astonished to get slapped around by a 60 degree breeze.

Any warmth coming up at all or will we have another long and beautiful autumn?

Latest Euro says we don't get humid again until Sunday and its only a few hours.

Lets call it Upper 70s Low 80s for High. Not sure if that's "warm" for you.

Status quo like today next 2 days but gradually warming starting Saturday..

Heaven in Mid August. Enjoy guys.

Widespread 40s this morning in Indiana, Ohio and western PA. 10-15 below normal including DC/Philly area. The rest of us are just 5-10 below normal.

Man it feels great out there!! 56F here which is the lowest I been since June 23rd!! It's been so hard for the coast to cool down. I love these Upper Level Lows in New England. Perfect

Washington Dulles normal is 65. Currently 53
BDL Normal low is 62 they hit 54..

Temp graph for the month so far. 3 CT Stations & Washington Dulles. u can see how far off the normal we are this morn

Current dewpoints = DRY for Mid August!

Wider view here.

The reason for this cool dry air is because there is an anomalous Upper Level Low over southern Quebec which is sending a North/NorthWest cool dry Canadian flow down.

Pattern will relax after this weekend.
