One thing I have to say is they are extremely dog friendly there. You can eat outside at Roy and Sid's with your pooch without a problem, as long as they are well behaved, obviously. We've been taking our monster sized dog there since he was 17 weeks old, he's almost 2 now. Even at 135 lbs he's welcomed in many shops. Several stores there have dog bowls out with water, etc.
Market Commons is probably the best thing to come to Myrtle Beach. If we could have found a big enough home at a reasonable cost, it would have been our first choice. Definitely NOT touristy. A major plus in my book.
I'd love to have a Bloomingdales. Even more than that, I would love it if they would stop blaring music everywhere through those outdoor speakers. I find it so annoying to walk down the street being bombarded with music coming out of the bushes. You can't get away from it. They do it at the malls, too. What's up with that?
Thats funny Otango mentioned Macy's. I got a flyer from Macy's while in SC and off we went to the Mall.......Round and Round......
Wondering why a flyer and NO Macy's.....
I went home and I just could not come up with one.
So...hummmm.......Why that flyer?
Those stores would be nice additions really, and I think there is room.
Sunnering a coworker at my last job had the exact experice the Christmas before last. She had a flyer from the mail and had seen tv ads for Macy's Xmas sales & had planned her shopping out ahead. So one day she asked us where the Macy's was downtown (Charelston) since she drives a county over to work and is not as familiar with the downtown. We all stood there befuddled and wondered if Macy's hadn't put a store in whichever part of the area we were not from.
Final answer- no Macy's in the whole state supposedly but they sure as heck hired a direct-mail firm.
BTW- what is going on price/sale-wise with the live work units. A good friend had a deposit on one but backed out due to the economy- ie tight lending.
I think there's a Macy's closer than in Columbia! Florence, maybe? Charleston? I don't know, but I know I've seen one in the last 6 months! I go too many places to remember lol
That is the only Macy's in SC, at least according to Macys.com store locator.
