People are very sensitive down here. Don't say anything BAD about Florida. The climate, the traffic, the homeless, the crime, the gangs, the drugs.....shhhhhhhh!!!! Florida does it better. We, who are here, all know the truth of what it really is. Most transplants eventually re-re-reinvent themselves back to their original form and become angry.

Florida is to the US as New York was to the world during the great immigration. The migration of those seeking a better life brings many good people, but also disgruntle, angry, disenchanted, people trying to get away from something or some wrong in their lives.

Q. What happens when people run from poor situations finds out the problem is them? and their situation is self inflicted? and the change of 'scenery' doesn't change a thing?

A. They become askholes

Most transplants, after a couple years, start to get REALLY ANGRY about things like "not being able to find good pizza," or being eaten alive by mosquitoes 24/7, or the price of car insurance, and they lash out until eventually they go back where they came from.

As a native Floridian, seen it a million times. The lashing out is becoming really acute now with the record-setting heat and the cost of everything skyrocketing, which is pricing many of the transplants out.

nope, Dave's right....moving to Florida was supposed to fix their problems....palm trees and tiki bars
they get here and find out Florida can be a pain just like where they left

...only here, they don't have the peer pressure, family, friends, network they left to keep them in check

no one to tell on them...it just human nature.....if they can get away with it, they will

Their problems become accentuate.

Many are also tax-allergic, hence the move to FL where they were supposed to free-load off the system. Meanwhile homeowners insurance has shot up dramatically, as has rent, grocery prices are among the highest in the US, every new highway is a toll road and state government focused on shaping cultural values and attacking fringe groups versus fixing any of the problems. Suddenly having no state income tax seems less of a bargain.

The law of supply and demand still exist, but that alone is not responsible. Cost of living is up, no doubt. Thanks Brandon.

Funny how groceries were running about 15-20% lower than Florida prices in our visits to blue Colorado and Michigan this year. (Tucson, Arizona was pretty similar to here, and Jackson Hole Safeway was maybe 15% more, but that’s an isolated area with limited grocery competition.)

Time to retake that Civics and Government class assuming you've had one. The POTUS does not in fact influence worldwide inflationary statistics, nor gas prices.

Absolutely he does. How and why?

How... Well when the nation's POTUS who is the leader of the largest producing nation of energy related products on the globe says.... "I'm gonna end fossil fuel" that has a global impact.

Why... well there will be a potential future shortage, therefore inflation (law of supply and demand) and then investors say.... "hmmmmm, should I put my money (capital investment) into an industry that is being attacked by it's own government?" What fool does that?

Make a note.
