We're up to 61 homicide victims in the city limits for 2022. That's more than we normally get for the entire year.

Not sure why when the economy is so strong. I guess people just don't want to work, hence why my office can't find any staff.

Pittsburgh's population was 370,139 in 1990 and is estimated to be 300,431 as of 2021. Whenever I hear someone say "but there were more homicides in the early-90's!" I wonder if they factored in that population decline to determine the differential in the per capita homicide rates. I have a feeling 2022 will end with 70 homicides, which ties 2014 for being the deadliest in recent history. Is 70 in 2021 actually better than, say, 91 in 1991 if you factor in the population differential?

The “uprising” causing skyrocketing violent crime is no surprise. It was spawned during the summer of love and defund the police nonsense, and has continued since. Still haven’t seen the social workers released like Big Ed said, still haven’t seen Big Ed step up to do anything about it, still haven’t heard anything from the community leaders doing anything about it, and still haven’t heard about folks stepping up to tell who the criminals are in their area/s. Just that they supposedly know where they reside, but keep their heads down versus turning them in, but I have heard a lot of promoting an incoherent dullard that’s greatly defended and enabled criminals. …so folks will continue to reap what they sow.

Do we not care about crime anymore since there is no longer a need to scare the electorate? This caused a ton of fear and lockdowns in the South Hills yesterday:

They should give this kid another gun and tell him to continue with his work. And give his targets guns too. Let's get this over with and give all these psychopaths what they want.

A judge has dismissed all charges against a 15-year-old arrested in connection with the shooting at Kennywood Park back in September.

At a hearing Wednesday, the judge said there's not enough evidence to support the charges against the teen.

Investigators testified that gunshot residue was found on the teen's clothing, along with a bullet hole in the clothes. Investigators believed the teen fired a handgun from underneath his clothes the night of the shooting.

But guns are icky, and let those that are against guns and defend and enable criminals reap what they sow.

Wonder if these folks had a gun in the home as it could’ve kept them from becoming statistics and one of them dead.

City is now up to 64 homicides. Will we break 70 this year?

We have that everywhere already. Open enough car doors and you`ll have a gun or two. The Nashville police department had reports of 625 guns stolen from vehicles in the first 5 months of this year. That`s just one city and only 5 months. Law abiding citizens just give their guns away.
