The fact that there were no arrests is a joke and this city's law enforcement should be embarrassed.

The new policies in this town are that you can shoplift openly, form as a mob and attack innocent citizens openly, ride dirtbikes in mobs openly, do this new "drifting" BS and basically anything else you want with no legal consequence. Even violent homicide goes unpunished 85% of the time.

Exactly. It's incredible that this is allowed with no repercussions whatsoever. It's not like this happened up in some far-flung part of Philadelphia. This was literally in front of City Hall.

At what point will leaders regain control? I love Philadelphia, but this crap will start to hinder growth, tourism, and revitalization. Major crime and disturbances have leaked into a lot of Center City, which was my fear (and prediction) 1.5 years ago.

What time did this happen, the new didn't say?
Yes, these drifting events are planned.

I started hearing this around 11:45pm Saturday and finally I checked the citizens band app...and then could watch the show live and some other video clips. Couldn't see it otherwise but there were tons of cars heading to Market Street to get in the line-up.

Seemed to go until between 12:15-12:30 am Sunday.

I know people that live on JFK Blvd. put up with really loud car dragging 24-7, due mostly to the open stretch from 20th Street to 29th Street. Drag-city and now we have Drift-city!

Who wants to post this article in the Philadelphia FB group, I am again curious what the responses will be, or I'll be run out of town for dare questioning the new status quo.

the city's new policy: no traffic stops for ''non-safety'' related vehicle violations ie. expired tags, broken tail light...city is allegedly mailing a warning or a ticket for these violations...again, not sure how expired tags or a broken tail light is not a safety issue.

Philly's in the midst of a ''driving while black'' crisis and this new policy is supposed to reduce encounters with police officers.

And arson. It still boils my blood that no arrests were made for the Walnut Street arson, or the Dilworth Starbucks arson.
I can't imagine it is that difficult to track these people down.
