No wonder the young arent paying attention to govt with ridiculous suggestions like this one. Im old and starting to tell govt where to go. I have no respect for govt anymore. I urge other people to do the same.

1)one is those that have drug or criminal abuse that they aren't raising the kids. The parents can't raise them since they aren't there.

2)Those with professional jobs that still might have people come in or require dedicated time away from kids

Of course divorce and step parents can complicate this but the costs of day care and exposure also add up.

Details are set to be announced on Mon I believe.
That will be fun dropping kids off at 8 then leaving the house around 11 to go pick them up. All assuming most people will be working from home. If not then I don’t know what they’ll do.

There’s a pre school around here that goes from 9 to 1130. We decided not to use it since it seems like such a short amount of time. Not much you can even do in that timeframe. Guess we might not have a choice.

No demographic has resisted authoritarian urges, so I suggest avoid broad strokes. Particularly since "the youth" largely rejected the current two-bit authoritarian regime.

Given the number of people which have turned mask-wearing into a liberties issue, I'm not sure steep income-adjusted penalties are uncalled for. At some point, their non-compliance is a violation of my own health and safety.

Are buses going to be running? What about all of the families that don’t have cars? Use the T and hope it’s not running late? Call an Uber?

I guess buses will be used but not everyone uses or takes the bus. In a time like this I don’t think people will want to start using the bus. Maybe other parents who do rely on them won’t want to use them either ? It seems like a place where germs could spread even if with masks on and kids distanced. In Boston I truly don’t see how busing will work and have kids distanced. It seems like there’s too many kids. Anyways this is all pretty messy. I’ve come to terms with the fact that I’ll be doing most of the teaching/school work this fall. So much for my job. Hope it’s quiet.

This speaks a bit to my frustration. I fee like all the decisions are being made by well-heeled suburbanites with yards, SUVs, and the ability to WFH and leave work at a moment’s notice. I’m not hearing much chatter on the plan for everyone who doesn’t fit that narrow mold. Cars aren’t standard-issue and not everyone can just adjust their workday.
