BeAnInsider,
First of all I want to thank you for all the info your giving us on here . How do they determine a senority number, and how do they determine your top of the tier to get a job offer? Just wondering because I know there are a lot of people that applied for cocktails, and trying to figure out were I probably stand or if I have a chance at all

Exactly.. But, in my case I was told that two people declined the offer before me. (Because the "good shifts" were taken)

So say I was #7 on the list to call.. Well, because of those two who declined. I am now #5. Which puts me in a better position. Confusing but I am sure you get it. PLUS, I was told that more Operators would need to be hired once this POS program called "hot sauce" goes active. So if they fire by senority my position is a little safer with the more people hired.(I'm still going to work my butt off and be the best in my department so they will see what an asset I am to the company) Plus you really never know what may happen with those 25 or more people who were offered a job prior to November.

Some may drop off due to personal reasons, find a job that starts right away or even decide they just do not want to work for CC anymore. Then these people may not show up for CC on their start date. In that case my senority may go up even more?(depending if it was someone ahead of me that declined to show up)

No matter what. If your the first wave to get hired there is no place to go but up really. Stay positive!

And thank you all for the CONGRATS! I hope all that have waited this long get a phone call ASAP.

FYI-

I was Open/BLANK for a loooong time. Since my drug test on July 1st. As of today after signing my Job offer it now says OPEN/ACTIVE.. Weird. And I did check it before I went in this morning. No change until I came home and filled out the forms online. Then BAM "Active" status. I think a few posts ago someone said after their job offer their status went to "Hired" I haven't seen that. Has anyone else who did their job offer already have their status change to hired? Weird.

Just out of curiosity...Having been around Vegas for many years, and having dealt with several gaming properties....back in the day most properties intentionally over hired....They had a soft opening...then an opening.....and then the cuts began.

I know several people that found themselves gainfully unemployed after leaving one "stable" job, with senority....thinking that there was a better one at the other end of the rainbow.

I realize that "city center" is more than a "casino" but after reading many of these posts I have the impression that many people are thinking that landing a position is the solution.

Someone told me once that...getting hired was the easy part....staying hired is another story...

There has sure been alot of discussion about this "city center" thing. I hope those that have hung it all out waiting, are not sadly disappointed when the end....does not justify the wait.....

Now before you argue that...but "city center" is different...check out another very well established business in the Las Vegas valley.....the railroad.

Back in 2005-2006 the railroad hired like there was no tomorrow. They spent hundreds of thousands hiring and training....and shortly after that, in 2007, the bubble burst and the furloughs came.

Doubt my word.....check it out....hundreds were furloughed from a very well established employer. Many had left decent jobs for a job that promised more, only to be furloughed and ultimately lost homes, families....futures.

During a probation period things like "senority" dont even play into a termination. Serving at will means that termination during that time period (probation) can occur without specific cause...with little or no recourse......just a little wisdom from one who has seen it, and heard it....but fortunately not had to live it.

Freckle, you nailed it on the head. You're exactly right. CC is actually hiring under quota so the chances of lay offs are slim, it would mostly be due to quitting or no-shows. 30-40% internal 60-70% external overal. ~10500 positions, originally something like 12000

They way the determine who's in their top tier and who didn't make the cut is by the interviews. Each interview is scored. So if your 3 interviews went very well, chances are you're on their list to be hired.

Ex: max score out of 3 interviews total may be like 156. their cut off may be 120. So if you came in above 120 you'll be good. Then they'll extend job offers in order of highest score first.
Scores will be much lower if there were only a total of 1 or 2 interviews for each position but the idea is the same.

Its difficult to explain without giving away too much information. A lot of this stuff is highly confidential.

And to the person that asked about Audio Visual. I really don't have a clue. I haven't heard anything from that department for a couple months now.

They told me that my ranking was #35 & they were hiring 50 something therapists. I am a new resident to Nevada having moved here from Louisiana just about a year ago. Best of luck to you.
I also have been hired for a job in the spa(salon). Just out of curiosity did they give you a start date or commission rate?

Actually, back a 100 posts ago I believe the thread spoke about this. (the fact that most of us are not holding our breath for a miracle) I am sure 80% of us on here agree that CC is not the "end all job". And 95% of us are keeping our current jobs until we see how CC pans out. I would never throw everything away on something that has no set future. I myself plan on working my bum off to the point that CC would be insane to dispose of me. I also know a few people on here who plan on doing the same.(I don't expect to be "saved" because of my senority but, because of my work ethics)

Your words are true. And thank you for putting it out there! Some people do need to take a step back and understand that this all could end badly. So hold onto your ties. And keep in good relationship with your current employer (if you have one) If not..What is there to lose? Just get back on track and apply to other casinos. If they let you go before your 90 days and you didn't have a job prior to CC then look at it this way. At least you got paid for those 90 days instead of no income coming in while still job hunting..right? Right on for the post and thank you!!

Just think of all the people that applied for c.c. in the beginning of the year that no longer want the job due to finding another job sooner, personal reasons, etc... Hopefully that will help in our part
