I was then sent to the desk for the processing info. I was told that I would have to come back in. (Early October) for my processing. Photo copies of my I.D. and SS Card. Take my I.D. Photo. and sing any papers. I was also told to login to my account and electronically sign and date all the ICD-9, W-2, etc. forms. (Which I just got done doing)

I was told that 2 weeks prior to my start date I would receive my "packet" in the mail with all the info on where to park and how to get into the building. I will also receive a call a couple days before my process date and then again a couple of days before my start date.

I was sitting next to a lady who was hired for Valet and also a slot tech who got hired as well both external applicants once from Imperial Palace and the other from the Excalibur.

Hope this info helps some of you! If you have any questions just ask.
Congrats Freckle. That is great news. But Excalibur is an MGM property so it looks like they are processing external and internal at the same time.

There's a lot of bad information going on in this forum. If any of you have questions I'll gladly answer them through a PM.

And Passions, How is me giving general information about the status of who's giving job offers wrong? Yes you didn't all apply for the same position, but the process and system is the same for everyone. Granted some have more interviews than others, and some departments are slower at submitting their lists to the Hiring Staff.

FYI: A lot of F&B positions are very specialized, so there's a reason there are 2 and 3 interviews for some of them. They want to make sure their employees know wtf they're doing.

aug. 2009 received a call from department head asking if i was interested in a management position! (said yes!)
aug. 2009 did drug test and submitted paperwork for background check

when i was asked about the management position my job i applied for went "in-active" and then popped up was the new management position then said "active" then 2 days after my drug test and since then both have been "blank"

i called and inquired about it today and i was told that since i was pursued asked by the department head about a higher position than what i applied for he doubted that they would have me go through the whole process if i wasn't to go "all the way" he also told me that they have a lot of people to call and some departments haven't started making offers yet.

So i wait. Has anyone been called for the spa?

I am sure they are doing both external and internal. I am external. And so was the Valet person. Didn't know Excalibur was MGM. Obviously they were hiring internal as well. The back of my accept letter has a spot for internals and says:

If you are currently employed at an MGM MIRAGE-affiliated property or company and you accept this offer of employment, your acceptance shall serve as notice to your current MGM MIRAGE-affiliated employer of your resignation effective on your last day of work day prior to your Aria start date.

Good to know!

It seemed like they were still interviewing people and drug testing them as well. I wish I would have been a little more vocal and asked a few people what they were there for. My hiring manager was a little late so I had to wait 10-15min. before I was called over to accept the job.

Another tid-bit of info. They have these "logs" for each casino. Inhouse, Hotel, casino all seperate. Almost like date log books. That's what they looked in to give me a date to come in for my processing. They were very nice and even asked if I had a specific day of the week or time I would prefer. I just said to make it the first date they had. It ended up being the first week of October. Which really isn't that far off.

I also got to see the hiring person for the Valet. He seemed very upbeat and excited. Seemed like he would be a cool person to work for. I know my hiring manager was the same way. She was all smiles and kept asking me how excited I was. Everyone I talked to seemed warm and real. Refreshing after working for a bunch of stiffs at Wynn.

The back of my Job offer form also says:

2 weeks before your start date:
You will receive a packet in the mail with important information that you should read and bring with you on your first day at ARIA. Please watch for this packet to arrive at the address you have on file.

During your new hire processing appointment, you will be granted access to an exclusive website for new employees which contains key information about what you can expect leading up to your start date at ARIA.

** In the top right corner is the number employee I am in my department. I am not sure if this is used for all departments but my thinking is that this is how senority will be done.

Congrats Freckle.

You're seniority has already been calculated when you came in for your job offer. Say your #5 of 25. You were 5th in line to get a call, 5th in line to get your job offer, and 5th to pick your shift, if they had shift bids.

When it comes down to actual seniority for promotions and such, Its based off of your corporate hire date.

Pizza-4-1,
And the paperwork I faxed in was my W2 from last year at my current job and my last pay stub. FYI.

I am thinking it was a way to confirm where I worked without having to call.
