That was pretty cool. We had a gust that reached 58MPH a few blocks away, here in North Haven, and I watched the secondary branch of our 60-year-old maple bend all the way to the ground, and whip back up again.

The air is cool, everyone's safe, my cat is traumatized for the second time in 24 hours...

Anyone who has friends on boats out on the Sound, have them get to port on the tip of Long Island ASAP. Don't have them return to the CT. Shore.

Ah yes, one of my cats was also traumatized once again. The other never cares, but this one does. However, she got in the window (window is open about 2" but I had the blinds closed and she went between the window and blinds) and was enjoying the cool breeze.

How odd to look outside and other than wet roads, it looks like nothing happened. We got lucky here where I am.

That was an awesome storm! Lots of cool lightning, long-lasting, but no damage where I am.

Still no power for me this morning. A coworker who lives in the CT River Valley had a tree fall on his house, but that's about all of the damage I have heard about.

I saw a sailboat out on the Sound during it on my way home. Didn't seem like a good idea.

Got these from a video I was taking last night of the lightning bolts in the sky in southwest CT.

2nd picture shows a lightning bolt hitting long island.
