Get ready for more thunderstorms tonight. Should be more widespread and cover most of CT as well as adjacent areas like Westchester County and Long Island (I believe MA and RI got the t-storms last night which is why I'm not mentioning them).

Also, more school districts decided "after the fact" to close early today (Bridgeport, where I am today, comes to mind....Norwalk already decided before school opened).

Default Storms 6-9-11

Watches could be issued soon as the initiation of storms will be expected over next few hours.

Our convective temp is 95. That means if it hits 95 the other ingrediants dont have to be extreme to get storms. Problem is...the other ingrediants are getting in place and a cold front is swooping down.

I expect things to happen after 3pm in CT.

Holy wow! That's some storm out there right now. It went from bright to black as night in a heartbeat. And then the thunder started. And now the rain. Oh! The rain! It's already cooled the temps. Aaaaah!

No more rotation, now just intense cells embedded in the squall line. Maybe damaging winds and downpours...

Would like to hear any reports or OBS if you have any,

Wow, that was scary! I'm glad the worst has moved away from my area. I couldn't believe it was almost pitch black at like 5:15pm!

Worst for me is the winds - so many trees in my yard that I fear for them, or a huge branch, falling on th ehouse. I don't own the house, but I am on the top floor.
