Sunday Rant time.

Those constant posts about storms and tropical systems affecting us or U.S need to STOP A.S.A.P. It's one thing to be passionate about weather, it's another to say things you have no clue about such as forecasting or impacts. I am sick and tired of seeing amateurs blurt things out and the false information or hype getting spread out so quick.

It's unfortunate now a days because technology and social media allows word to travel so quick and out to thousands of people. And it's unfortunate that any kid has access to models too. They get the free ones but some actually pay to get the professional data and they still hype and don't understand how to forecast or what they are saying.

Someone got sued because of this and the idiot even used a News Station logo!!. NWS Offices now reply back to those who try to blurt false things out to create panic or interest.

Stop being a forecaster if you don't understand the weather, Stop constantly mentioning storms could hit if there's no support for it. Lets talk about current weather and of course stay on topic which is Connecticut Weather!

Want an example???? THE FRIGGIN THING HADNT EVEN FORMED YET But there was 20,000 shares of one image that went out. Either by media or some kid. But with the actual .............. Silence.

Point is... it wasn't formed, there wasn't support for a U.S hit, there wasn't support for development then.

Good tweet being shared now...

"Why real meteorologists put in the effort to put out early amateur forecasting fires (yes, its important)"

We knew averages were coming down but how about the actual max temps? BDR Only once above 80° in last 11 days, in August!! No wonder why I'm able to tolerate this August. (2 Augusts in a row!)

7Wishes... there's some interesting stats out there now.. Like this one...

BDR has 8 days left to beat 90° otherwise it will be the 12th year not going over out of 64 Summers on record. 3rd lowest Max temp.

Also....

135 Summers had a max temp over 91° in NYC. 8 days left to avoid having the 2nd lowest Max temp on record this yr
wait so 1902 and 1871 have missing data? so how can they say it has the record of lowest max and fewest 90 degree days? There may have been some in the missing data. I think thats why this year when tracking that Central Park had no 90 degree day yet (which broke on July 2, first time since 1985 no 90 degree day until July), in looking at the record for latest in the year it first hit 90, they threw out July 26, 1877 and declared July 14, 1985 the record.

I think barring something unusual or unforeseen in Sept (or October! though the last 90+ in October in Central Park occurred in 1941.....), Wednesday and Thursday are the last chances for 92 or higher in Central Park this year (NWS is predicting 88 and 89)

So another day of 70s except BDL, Hartford and Meriden. BDL had the highest max in CT of 82 (lol).

Check out the dewpoints. 50s! Normal for August is Muggy 60s.

September it drops to 50s except immediate coast and Long Island the average max stays in low 60s.

I can't believe my A/C isn't coming on during the day. (only evening and night)

Currently BDR has the 20th coldest August Average temp on record... Cooler than last yr but ... odds favor next year being warmer.

Basically we never had 4 Augusts in a row that were cooler than one another .. 3 a couple of times.

Next year would make 3 but odds are against it looking at history.

So my bet August 2015 would be closer to 73° than 72°

Lets look at Septembers… There hasn’t been 3 Septembers in a row cooler than one another. We already had 2. (2012, 2013).. so Odds are we’ll be warmer than the normal of 66.2° this year

If September ends up below 65.2° it will be a first

Hopefully that'll be the last of it. I mean I like the heat, I can't really complain, but I'm looking forward to more autumn weather.
