Heard last week that Adam’s Car Wash was sold and is now closed. New owner plans to level the car wash and “start over” with a new one. Wonder if it’s Auto Bell or something similar?
RIP Adam's....I was wondering how long they were going to hold on. The building was borderline falling apart, the car was there was old & not very good & it was over priced compared to the newer carwash places around town.
They use to be the place to go back in the day when you want to get that Lincoln Navigator washed, hand dried and some nice fake new car smell up in there. haha. My grandma loved Adams.

There was one in Goldsboro under the same name. If the Greenville location is under the same owner, then it will likely become America's Best Car Wash, which is what happened in Goldsboro earlier this year. I don't know how the Greenville location was, but Adams did not have a good reputation in Goldsboro.
Government run liquor stores are weird. I used to live in Anne Arundel County in Maryland. Liquor sales are privatized there. One of the holy grails of retail there was to have a liquor license. You can sell your liquor license to another person if you'd like. The licenses go for big bucks because of all of the potential profit. It was a rare event for a license holder to just surrender the license because they weren't making any money. Here in Pitt County 2 locations are closed/closing because they can't operate in the black. Why is that? I've been in an ABC store several times. It's not like they selling their product at a deep discount or something.
Now if you want to buy liquor in Pitt County you MUST go to the Greenville area to buy it. I do consider Ayden to be in the Greenville metro. Winterville and Greenville mix together at the Greenville southern city limits. Ayden and Winterville city limits are now within 1,000 feet or so of touching one another.
Once the new store opens, the existing 10th Street store will be sold off and is expected to fetch nearly $400,000, Pitt County ABC Board Manager David Byrum said.
Shoot - They need to pay someone $400,000 to burn that store to the ground, it's a giant turd sitting on 10th street. 95% chance someone buys it & opens another vape shop or something equally as bad.
