Within 4 years, American cities will be as violent as Mexican cities are now.

Or address systemic racism so these vulnerable communities can become progressive communities.

Agree, but lets call it "stable communities." Inner city neighborhoods need stability not progressiveness.

The word progressive has lost meaning and is quickly morphing into an updated version of the old democratic machine. (and this coming from a liberal.)

Yes, what these communities need is not more failed liberal policies or more endless pursuit of social justice.

Stable, two parent households lead by an upstanding man would be a great start.

Detroit is at 154 by my count. I got this by taking a recent news article with dept data and adding the news ones in between then and today.

Jacksonville is at 96 homicides, 7 of which were officer involved. Elsewhere in the sunshine state Tampa is at 18 and St Pete 10

In just the last three weeks Chicago has seen around 100 (!) murders. In three weeks.
This can't possibly be true. Can someone verify this??

I can't confirm, but it's possible to average more than 4 murders a day there.

If you look at heyjackass, the “30 day stupidity trend” says 104 homicides. So, it’s about 100 in 4 weeks.
