Sometimes the best move for law enforcement is kept close to the vest. I tend to think this is happening here. They will solve this but don’t care about public insistent closure.

Why has no reward been offered for information leading to an arrest an conviction?

Because they don't have the manpower to field all the false information that brings in. Police have requested that the public stop sending their helpful speculation. All it does is to clog up the system.

The community is already helping as much as they can and a reward wouldn't make any difference.

The police seem to be doing a decent job and they are keeping the public up to date, at least the local news carries updates. Maybe the national news has gotten bored with it already if the rest of you aren't seeing updates. Police don't solve crimes like the police procedural shows on TV. It's not all that easy when there are no witnesses and no fingerprints and it isn't possible to match a knife to wounds, unless the knife is carrying DNA on it.

FBI is on the scene, so there is access to better crime laboratory.

According to (usually very critical) crime experts/pundits, the MPD are doing a thoroughly professional job. Sorry, Cloudy, I don't have a link for you. I watch/listen to numerous sources.

Interesting that this has become the top story on Headline News, a part of CNN. This channel has become the “crime” channel for the network. And on WGN Ashley Banfield spent her entire show this evening on this murder. I think this is actually a good approach as it invites those who want details that get glossed over on other platforms.

I feel certain the cops will be looking at a list of attendees.
