I am not familiar with the house in question. But, it is very possible it is an old single family dwelling broken up into individual apartments. That would include walling off old doorways, etc.

It is also possible that college students up that late may have been chemically aided into a deep sleep.

Both of the above are pure conjecture on my part.

The house

A source that used to live in the house for three years and attend University of Idaho, and is remaining anonymous due to safety reasons, tells KTVB that there are two bedrooms on each of the floors of the three-story home, and a slider door that leads out the back.

The source said that around 20 feet from the slider door, near the kitchen, is a bedroom, then stairs to third floor is close by. The slider door leads out to a backyard that backs up to a remote area.

It would be hard to hear anything from the bottom level, he said. In his time living there -- from 2012 to 2015 -- downstairs roommates often had parties or music turned up loud because they are below the living room, towards the front end of the house, the source said.

Some really fascinating history, BanjoMike. Thanks. Just one correction...Saint Petersburg was the cultured capital of Czarist Russia. The national government was moved south to Moscow, which was safer from invasion, in 1918 after the Soviet revolution.

They have been. The Police Chief made the announcement Friday evening.

I wonder what this will do to the university.
While the incident was off-campus, if I had a child attending the U of I right now, they would be coming home for Thanksgiving and would stay put in my house until the killer was arrested.

They are allowing students to access classes remotely for the rrmainder of the semester.
