Hmmm...I would have thought that the majority of the errors seen on social media sites were posted by people in that particular age group!
If 73% of that age group recognized (and were irked) those gaffes, then...does that mean the errors are being posted by only 27% of that age group? Somehow it seems more pervasive than that, but...Who knows for sure?

I think I'm going to be busy. I have to wash my hair.
Yes, reading through it was a torturous experience, but as soon as had I read a couple of sentences I could tell that this was a foreign-born person--very likely from Asia. Later, the OP confirmed my suspicions by stating that she is Chinese.
I am quite intolerant of bad grammar when it is displayed by native-born Americans, but when somebody has immigrated to The US from a non English speaking environment, I tend to overlook mistakes which I would not accept from a native-born American.
If I was to attempt to compose a post in her native language, I suspect that my efforts would be even worse--even after I had supposedly learned that language.
OK - thanks for the Sunday morning lecture. Just what I needed in my quest to become more holy!
I would bet that a good portion of the posts we quote on this thread may be by people who have a learning disability too - perhaps dyslexia. Maybe their mothers drank when they were pregnant and the people we're quoting are doing the best they can possibly do. Maybe they suffered a concussion or a stroke and are now language impaired - who knows?
If we got hung up on all that, this thread would quickly die.
I still find reading the post I quoted painful. You can hate on me all you like for that. It's no skin off my back.
By the way, whoever left me the negative comment as a "rep," - that IS against the TOS, and your rep can be traced. I'm not going to bother reporting it, so don't worry - just a friendly reminder.
Sign your name next time, or send a private message. I respect that a lot more because it's not anonymous. Anonymous comments have a particularly snarky, cowardly vibe to them, don't you think?
I'm available if the pay's good! 'Have shoes, will jaywalk.'
Or like that old t.v. show- "Have Gun- Will Travel."
