"They are true social comileans" - a comment about people with a particular psychological condition.
I had to read this one out loud - only then did it make sense, mostly since someone once close to me made this claim about themselves (gender-neutral "they" is deliberate).

When I was about 13, I ordered a chameleon for a dollar. When it arrived I opened the box, saw the lizard, then never saw it again. It escaped and perhaps lived a long time in the house, or not. I don't remember if I told my parents. Surely I did.
The comment below was posted by somebody who claims to have graduated from a prestigious NJ high school, and who states that he earned a degree in accounting. Hopefully his math skills are better than his English language skills:

It blended into it's surroundings, apparently!
That's OK. A few years ago, our cat brought a HUGE bullfrog - not a toad but a bullfrog - into the house and of course he immediately got loose. We chased that thing around the house for hours, and finally just gave up. I never did find him.
