A comment about a potential script direction in a popular TV series:

"One nightstand, kissing, emotional stuff is all possible with these writers...but relationship, no."

Perhaps the writers are doubling as set decorators.

I'm working towards a second degree and for an online class, we've been sternly warned several times as to the consequences for not using proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

The very annoying TA, who repeatedly warns (complains to) us regarding a variety of issues, announced that she "would have to grade assignments by hand (poor thing) because the online system only accepts the exact answer and doesn't allow for mispellings."

My own writing skills are lacking...I know, but this made me smile. Do you have any idea how hard it was to keep my inner snark monster at bay?

A notice of a Christmas-season service in an English church, cited by Peter Ashley in his very amusing "Unmitigated England" blog:

"The carol service at Slawston Church will take place this Sunday (14") at 6:30 p.m. There will be wine and micepies afterwards. Do come".

I hope the church cat was invited.

OK, now - enough is enough.

Not once, but TWICE this week I've heard newscasters on national television say "supposably." The word is "supposedly!!!!!!!!!" STOP THE MADNESS!
