At that latitude in winter time of day makes little difference in terms of rising and falling temperature, especially so near the solstice.

It is 2C at Tromso, Norway at 69N at 4 AM. The gulf stream influence is always impressive there at that latitude.

It's also why Bermuda has the most northerly tropical climate on Earth. It's a powerful current that allowed northwestern Europe to become habitable.

I was there on Jan 12th, similar weather without the warming influence. At 12 Noon it was bright and sunny, -41C with ice fog. Max was -37 around sunset. Took a stroll out on the lake to Back Bay, the cemetary, and the ice caves. Then I had a long afternoon nap, then headed to Bullocks for dinner.

Light Snow is coming down. High of 30 F, low of 26 F. Overcast all day long. Just like winter should be.

I beg to differ. Winter should be sunny with highs in the 60s&70s imo

-40c is a lot harder of course. I experienced -30c myself. It was so ****ing cold but I had fun.

I had to put 7 clothes on my upper body. How would I exercise with 7 clothes on my upper body? All I can do is walking. And not for long either. I had to get inside a place to warm up and then go out again. I was like that. It was fun, though.

If I had -30c at a place where I cannot get inside a place to warm up from time to time, then it would not be fun.

+40c is not a life danger condition while -40c is. Even -30c is. But as long as you can get inside a place to warm up from time to time and you also get dressed accordingly, then no danger in it.

And where temp hit +45c, I walked under the sun for hours. Still had no problem. Humidity was low, though.

Was looking at pics from a year ago when I toured my apartment complex. There's a line of trees that were obviously planted. A couple of days ago they were still orange, had nearly all their leaves still on. Last year, completely bare. I'm still amazed at how many of those trees around me still have some fall colors even as we approach Christmas. The main peak of the all the tall hardwoods was almost a month and a half ago.

Also sitting right at 70 inches for the year so far. Normal is 50. Record is 75 in 2009. I don't think we'll be reaching the record. Almost a shame cause this year has been more consistent.
