Man I wish we had at least 3 months like that.

Yeah, it was around -15 F to get that kind of sea smoke. I wish we had that for a good part of the year too.

You would like the Northwoods too, UP of Michigan and northern Wisconsin. I've been outside there many times with air temperatures below -35C and wind chills of -50C. Not this winter, not even worth going with how little snow and how warm its been.

Yeah, I haven't been to WI or MI but I did take a vacation to the northern Minnesota pine forests once. Got to -30C when I was there. Saw some cool visual effects there too, like halos:

Yeah, nice area reminds me of a more northerly version of Vilas County, WI- an area I'm quite familiar with.

It’s been 40s and rain most of December and all of January for
SE Alaska. Kinda sucks, a bit of winter weather would be appreciated.

It's been warm and rainy down here too. Seatac airport near Seattle has already gotten about 20% of its annual average rainfall!

Sure there are snow lovers, and for good reason, but if you polled all Americans, even all Canadians, 99% of them would rather never have temps below 20 let alone 0.
I'm Canadian and I don't mind a few nights below -20C.

More nonexistent winter garbage. After the cold front moves through, we get 4-5 days of at or below average, and then the SE Ridge comes right back due to the -PNA setting up shop. What a horrible scenario.

The Orange alert is issued. Lucky them.

DesMoines is above normal for snowfall this season while Mason City Iowa in the north is not.
