Depends what criteria you use and what location I guess. To me this one seems more impressive but yes, 2015 lasted longer overall (more blasts). This one was more consistent.

For Hartford..

Today will make 8 days in a row where the max temp stayed under 23F. 2015 only 4.

NYC streak still going... Today will make it 12 in a row! 2015 not even in the picture.

NYC Lows? 8 days in a row staying below 18°F (-8C). 2015 only 6.. (But using below 20F is close).

For Raleigh, North Carolina...

Today will make it 7 in a row staying under 36°F. Only 5 other yrs had same or more. Since 1887!

And today will make it 6 in a row staying at freezing or under. Only 2 other years had more! Wow.

2015 only had 2 in a row at most.

Number of days for a criteria is another stat I wanna look at..(not consecutive). Too many stats. This is awesome. lol

Well, it looks like the big warmup won't come until Monday. That would make 8 days in a row where the high failed to hit 50 F/10 C. Pretty incredible.

Ah, I've missed you. You seemed to have quieted down as of late, I wonder why

Lol, some record lows were smashed out east last night... some places hit 0 which smashed 2 hardiness zones... thats what i mean when i say destructive... when a place with native spanish moss, sabals, even some winter agriculture sees this cold no good comes from it except a couple less skeeters.... and some dead NATIVE vegetation... Of course what do you care... you would like it -10 f every day.

Raleigh smashed longest amount of time under freezing today ... previous record was 152 in 1982... we smashed through it today. No end in sight to the cold with a brief warm up into 60s and maybe 70s next week before another strong cold snap blasts through... jan likely will be top 5 coldest... this week is coldest on record for first week of jan and in top 5 coldest ever... to balance this cold out it would take an entire week of non stop 70s... happened before but not happening any time soon.

Cambium, weatherman keeps saying we broke longest stretch of hours below freezing but your charts show otherwise... hmmm i need to look into what they are saying. NWS is saying same thing.

Forgot at that post, though I've been checking

February 13 [see 0z Feb 14 had -30.9°C 850 mb. Cold blast was very intense but short-lived. Wind chills were a bit lower than this one.

ECMWF reanalysis 850 hPa at 10:00 am. -26°C by Albany but -31°C by Vermont and New Hampshire

for Friday it predicts silly temperatures: 9°C at 5000 feet over central New Hampshire

Spoiler

Wow, mighty cold afternoon temps!

That 4F reading in Virginia catch my eye....as cold as my neck of the woods,
that area is mountainous, looks like around Whytheville, I stopped there a few times
on my way to Florida as it is halfway, lots of Canadian license plates at the local Burger King

Also a nippy 9F just north of NYC....like around White Plains area....or maybe Yonkers
