This is absolutely incredible cold... very destructive cold in fact. This cold wave is up there with 1977, 1989, 1985, and 1899... 2014 and 2015 pale in comparison to this cold wave in many aspects.

Depends where you are; 2015 was longer cold-wise; tomorrow is the last day, cold blast started the day after Christmas, so 2 weeks

Yes, I think they are full of it. Back in 2015 we kept having frost booms... which for me only happen under -10 degrees. So far, even in this cold streak I haven't had that. Says to me it isn't as bad. Though the weather channel keeps messing up the forecast for effect.

They said today would be 5 degrees during the day. It already is 10. Fake weather!

I’ll do a comparison with 2015 when this is done; 2015 had more cold nights but warmer days

So, unfortunately the streak was over for Central Park by one degree. But what about La Guardia, JFK? They still have room for 2-3 more days below 0ºC. ¿How many days are the longest streaks below freezing there?

2015 was nothing for us. It barely got cold. As muslim12 said, this cold blast has been an epic one for us. Easily comparable to 1989 and 1985. I have been here since 1996 and nothing since then has compared to it here in eastern NC.

2015 didn't have such crazy cold highs, it was the nights that were crazy. This year it's the opposite. The lows are nothing special, but the streak of sub-freezing highs is unprecentented

Default It's the longest cold freeze in St. Louis

since 1983 with consecutive days under freezing. Fortunately it's supposed to end tomorrow.
