That’s a no-brainer......since when does Coastal New York EVER deal with extreme cold?? And with unchecked climate change, your point would be all the more valid, since NYC is projected to feel like Georgia in the best case scenario and Florida in the worst case scenario

It hit -18C last February, that's pretty intense for an urban area of like 20 million people Also please let's try to keep the climate change talk on the DL, it's going to be quite a while before New York turns into New Miami

I'm feeling good about a white Christmas, or at least SOME snow on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. I'm really hoping for a cold winter, especially after January 9. Last winter was doing OK until then but was a real #%@! up after January 9.

From January 10 - February 28, 2017, Bowling Green, KY had an average high of 58 F and low of 39 F, for a mean of 49 F. Snow total: zero. Days with an average temperature below freezing: 3 out of 50, all of them 30 or 31 F / -1 C. Days with an average temperature at or above 60 F / 16 C: 7, one as high as 69 F / 21 C.

This winter has been starting out okay, current averages for Bowling Green in December 2017 are 51 / 30 F (11 / -1 C). 1981-2010 average is 48 / 29 F (9 / -2 C), but we're only just over halfway through December. With the cold wave coming late month that should push averages down to about that 1981-2010 average.
