Current 850mb temps

Below freezing in the mountains of Tennessee, NC & Virginia (above 4000)

Snowing lightly in PA and NY this morning. Freezing line cutting through Maine right now and snow will start after lunchtime. Fog is on the warm side of things. It's in the 50s in Eastern MA right now 7am.

I have 5 inches of rain forecast in a 3 day stretch starting Friday. I wonder how rare it is that something like this happens in December.

At least rain doesn't leave a sloppy mess behind it. I think I seriously need to move to the British isles or Seattle
Lol Im loving it too, Im hoping for record snow this winter in Seattle, Denver and LA

Meanwhile... we continue.. Euro next Sunday +13C at 850 up to Maine. And yet another snowstorm for the Plains...projected. Insane warm airmass for this time of year. Still 10 days away though.

Surface temps would be in the 60s up to Michigan, Buffalo, Philly, ect. 70s up to Ohio and West Virginia.
Far more extremes from one Winter to the next these days. This extreme warm anomaly is flipped, it was on the West Coast last year.

I enjoyed the 7C with fog we had last weekend. Reminded me of the morning I was in South Carolina in late November last year.

If we didn't have this wind this 50F wouldn't feel so bad. It feels like winter.
