You guys are witnessing history and impressive Cold Airmass for this time of year.

Check out the Dig! Current 850mb temps. Freezing line over the Gulf and south of Tampa!

-20°C over North Carolina!

Greensboro reported -22.3C with the 12z balloon. That is the 3rd coldest 850mb temp for February

Atlanta shows actual 850mb temp was -18.7°C at 12z.THAT is a record for February. Dont usually see this type of airmass this time of year

Nashville 23.1°C at 12z launch is the coldest February 850mb temp on record. Impressive airmass digging down.

Click on the map then click real time and scroll down to see the current vs history. (2 balloon launches a day).

If the glaciers and melting and the polar bears are sweltering, tell them to move to the East Coast.

Greensboro currently has a wind chill of -7 F (temperature is 12). Just a bit chilly.
Wind chill of 2 here.
I stood outside without a jacket for two minutes before I got cold and had to go in. If I go outside for longer, I'll definitely be sure to dress warmly.

Tomorrow night is supposed to be clear with no wind, so the low temp will depend on where you live on the island.

If you live near the city, your low will probably be closer to 10F. If you live near the east end (close to Westhampton), then you'll probably get below zero.
