Put it on ignore. Same as it ever was.

It’s also hilarious as we heard claims that younger folks are going to save the country, yet we’ve seen huge numbers in proof that they’ve chosen not to work. Pretty obvious many are living with their older parents and makes one wonder what they’re going to do when their meal tickets will run out as they’re certainly not going to live forever, though so many do love to cry for socialism…and let’s not forget that the tax base shrinks because of it. It really cracks me up seeing millions of Boomers retiring early due to shutting it down and living in fear, so they chose not to come back to work, and folks asking where are we going to get millions of workers from….but muh old folks, lol

Still no social workers, police shortage, and with crime rising, firefighters will be responding to calls with police.

Target 11 Exclusive: Pittsburgh firefighters begin responding to shooting scenes today

The answer for the city is to only deploy police to those neighborhoods that want them. That would include business owners downtown. Leave the others to rot. Eventually they will become urban Prarie, ready for new development.

Nature is already reclaiming my own neighborhood. Tons of vacant lots and vacant homes that are becoming overgrown with vegetation.

Urban prairie can be very nice as well. Gardens, wildflowers. A little oasis in the city.

I am amazed by all of the wildlife I have around me despite being in the middle of the city. We have both red-billed woodpeckers and downy woodpeckers. We have lots of squirrels. We have rabbits. We have deer. We have the occasional coyote.

Wow, that's crazy. There is a lot of friction between Pittsburgh Police and Pittsburgh Fire Department. That whole thing has to be odd.

Pittsburgh sure is a mess since the BLM movement. It is what it is I guess, but I can see how Hitler came into power. People love to be led around and when evil leads them, watch out.

I am perplexed by this statement.

"But some paramedics tell Target 11 that with a 96% survival rate for gunshot victims..."

This doesn't make sense to me. If there are 70 people dead this year in Pittsburgh and there is a 96% survival rate of shooting victims that would be an insane amount of people being shot in the city. Not sure if my math is right, but isn't that 1,750 shootings in Pittsburgh? I hope that isn't correct.

i'm so glad you said that.

i like it! have you ever seen maybe a documentary on modern Detroit? where there were entire blocks of homes now literally ONE per acre, it seems. it is incredible.

all that green - can you imagine the near future where maybe those places become small farms, possibly? orchards, or pear and apple trees that yield enough to feed scores of homes, maybe?

or, they become useful for drainge/retention, to prevent street flooding (where it might be an issue) and possibly to allow people to reuse collected water for lawns/gardens and property cleansing?

We do have 'urban prairies' or at least significantly large green patches, either of which had homes in a few places such as Larimer, Lincoln-Lemington, and the eastern side of the Hill bounded by Centre/Herron out to the Bigelow Blvd speedway.

already in the last area i mentioned, an organization did implement some type of rain garden / large natural collection system there. i hadnt walked/biked by it in so long and so i have no idea if its held up or what.

maybe gg or burgho would know, or could scout it out on their bikes.

Urban prairie is nice, but it is usually in the bad parts of town and that l means tons of litter which would include drug paraphernalia and used condoms for the ones that bother. It isn’t like the beautiful parks in Fox Chapel that are litter free.
